Disney airplanesa game based on the upcoming animated film of the same name, is coming to Nintendo platforms, Nintendo announced today.

A Disney representative confirmed to Polygon that the console versions are developed by Behavior Interactive, while the handheld versions are by Tose Company.
According to Nintendo, the game will add to Disney’s film storyline, allowing players to control characters from the film and “enjoy the thrill of flight” through six environments from the film in more than 40 missions. The flight-based game will feature the film’s protagonist Dusty, a “big-hearted, speed-loving” dustman voiced by adventure-craving Dane Cook.
On console, players can play as one of 10 characters from the movie, while the handheld versions will offer the choice of six. The Wii U and Wii versions will include two-player multiplayer mode. Players can play through a single-player story mode to a handful of score-based mini-games in all versions, including a Balloon Popping mode. The Wii U and Wii will have two exclusive modes, an exploratory “Free Flight” mode and the Air Rallies racing mode. 3DS and DS players will also have access to an exclusive Challenge mode.
Disney planes hits theaters on August 9. The film is a Pixar spin-off Cars films and is produced by DisneyToon Studios with Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter serving as one of the producers.
