Gran Turismo 7 remains number 1 in UK sales

Gran Turismo 7 managed to stay at the top of the UK’s Top 40 Boxed Games chart for the third week in a row. The runner managed to beat Elden Ring and WWE 2K22 to remain number one, although these figures do not include any digital sales and only take into account physical copies purchased at retail outlets.

Sony’s new racing game has now topped the UK charts for three weeks on PS5 and PS4. WW2 2K22 jumped from second to third, while Elden Ring regained the second spot it lost last week. Nintendo had a good week with Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury after the first three. Rounding out the top 10 are Horizon Forbidden West, Strange of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach, according to Ukie.

Gran Turismo 7 has had a tough time since its release earlier this month. Following the many comments and reviews from fans, some users started criticizing the game on Metacritic. Despite a high review score and positive reviews, the user score received thousands of negative submissions. This dropped the rating to 2/10 and put it firmly in the red, with most reviews suggesting the negative ratings are due to the limited offline mode and microtransactions. Still, that doesn’t seem to have affected how many people buy the game based on its chart position.

In other racing news, several Mario Kart 8 DLC tracks have been leaked online, while Xbox users with Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions will get the chance to watch the highly anticipated Halo TV series with a Paramount Plus free trial as that free benefit.
