Just Dance 2023 ditches last-gen consoles

Just dance 2023 will be exclusive to current-gen platforms this time around, a pretty big jump from previous entries in the franchise. The Just Dance series is one of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises due to its appeal to casual audiences and for a very long time Ubisoft even continued to release the series on the Wii, although that console lost support from almost the entire industry. years ago. The reason Ubisoft continued to make the series for the Wii is because of the widespread adoption of that console. It was in the homes of many families, used in schools for things like physical education, and more. As such, it ensured that Ubisoft still had an audience on the Wii.

However, everything must come to an end. Ubisoft will not publish Just dance 2023 for the Wii (which isn’t a big surprise since the last two weren’t released there either) or the latest generation consoles. This means that the game will only be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Given that other games, including some of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises, are still releasing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it’s a bit surprising that Ubisoft was so quick to drop those platforms for the new release. . Ubisoft has supported consoles far beyond their relevance before, so it’s unclear why this decision was made. Given the franchise’s appeal to casual audiences, it would make sense to release the game on the platforms with the widest install base, like a nearly 10-year-old hardware generation, but Ubisoft has chose not to.

Whatever the reason, Just dance 2023 seems to be more what fans of this series will want. Whether or not there are a lot of Xbox Series X fans remains to be seen | S and PS5 who really want a new Just Dance. For the most part, only hardcore gamers were able to get a new console due to limited availability.

Just dance 2023 released November 22, 2023 for Xbox Series X | S, PS5 and PC. Are you looking forward to the new game? Let me know in the comments or contact me Twitter @Cade_Onder.
