Nintendo Switch owners have been warned they may have issues creating a new Nintendo Account this weekend. If you have a Nintendo Switch for Christmas, you might find it difficult to create a Nintendo Account on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. As Christmas approaches, Mario’s House has warned that anyone looking to create a Nintendo Account on the weekend of December 25-26 could experience technical difficulties.
The warning was issued by the official Japanese Nintendo Support Account ahead of a potential server overload for Christmas weekend 2021.
As reported by KnowTechie, the Japanese Nintendo Support Twitter wrote, âThis weekend, access will be concentrated on the Nintendo Account server, and it is expected that the Nintendo Account will not be created immediately. If you are planning to use the Nintendo Switch family for the first time, we recommend that you create it in advance. “
To make sure new Nintendo Switch owners don’t miss out on any features – like access to Nintendo eShop – Nintendo has advised people to create new Nintendo Accounts before Christmas.
A Nintendo Account is also used for the My Nintendo Rewards program, which awards you gold coins with physical game purchases which can then be used to get cash on digital purchases.
To create a Nintendo Account, you will need to create a nickname, enter an email address, password, date of birth, gender, country / region, and the time zone you are in.
Once you create a Nintendo Account, you will be able to take advantage of some of the money-saving offers currently in the Nintendo eShop Holiday Sale.
This promotion is valid until December 30, so even if you can’t access Nintendo eShop this weekend, all is not lost.
