Hardware saw the Switch as the top-selling hardware in March in units, although the Xbox Series ($399/$499) was the top revenue earner. Overall hardware is down 24% from 2021.
An interesting month for software saw Nintendo’s two published debuts in the top 20 with Kirby and the Forgotten Land coming in at 3rd (behind only Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring and Sony’s Gran Turismo 7 at 1 and 2), while Triangle Strategy placed 16th in the combined table. MLB The Show 22 Digital Deluxe and MVP Editions Ranked 4th Combined: Unclear if this includes potential digital Switch sales as publisher is MLB Advanced Media, which is not listed in the group of businesses that submit digital sales to the NPD. Rune Factory 5 (March 22) fell short of the top 20 overall, but doubled its Nintendo World Report review score in its ranking among Switch titles (9th).
Catalog titles in the top 20 on Switch were Pokemon Legends: Arceus in 6th, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 8th, Mario Party Superstars 17th, Super Smash Bros Ultimate 18th, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons 19th. Other third-party titles in the top 20 were FIFA 22 at 13th and Minecraft at 14th.
