Nintendo Switch Global Software Sales Update (CESA 2022) – Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Pokémon, Zelda and more

The Switch is absolutely dominating right now – with the system selling over 111 million units as of June 2022. In addition to hardware, Nintendo has also sold 863 million Switch software.

While we already know top sellers like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, new software data has now been released in the latest report from Japan’s CESA (Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association) white paper.

It provides updated global sales data (including physical and digital sales) for Switch games as of December 31, 2021 – with updates for titles like Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Maker 2. Here’s the recap of a number of games we have. I haven’t heard much about it in a while, via Perfectly-Nintendo:

– Splatoon 2: 13.13 million units
Super Mario 3D All-Stars 9.07 million units
– Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury: 8.85 million units
– Super Mario Maker 2: 7.89 million units
– The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening: 6.08 million units
– Mario Tennis Aces: 4.28 million units (+620,000 units since December 2020)

55 first-party Nintendo Switch games are also said to have sold over a million copies. Although we already know the top 10 thanks to official Nintendo data, this list also shows various other games that have reached one million sales – such as Fire Emblem Warriors and Bayonetta 2.
