Your opportunity
As a Senior Account Manager within the Public Relations department, you will lead, develop and direct the implementation of elite public relations campaigns, representing a portfolio of clients in the luxury hospitality, catering, travel, design and hospitality. We are looking for an astute individual to maximize all client relationships and bring new media contacts and collaboration ideas to campaigns.
The right person will be media aware and present on all media and communication channels. You will oversee a set of clients delivering a multitude of campaigns simultaneously in our cheerful and dynamic office.

Our ideal candidate knows how to work his networks, produce a deserved editorial and can perfectly prepare press releases without commas or semicolons for him. This full-time role offers a growth opportunity for the right candidate, as well as easy access to Melbourne’s best coffee shops just around the corner on Smith Street.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field and must have a proven understanding of public relations – how to get a deserved editorial.

Main responsibilities
- Exceptional professional writing skills

- Original thinking (for media angles, events, activation ideas)

- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Established media relationships in food (primarily), lifestyle, real estate, news, design and other ideal media pillars
Specific daily tasks:
- Writing press releases and content
- Customer relationship
- Assist in presenting new business and writing/coordinating proposals
- Pitch and media monitoring
- Media insights and keeping up to date
- Event management to some extent
- Managing contractors (for things like activations)
- Maintain all WIP documents and track meetings with contact reports
- Provide interview fact sheets to clients and interviewees
- Realization of photographic briefs
- Assist with photography if necessary
- General office administration and maintenance of supplies (occasionally)
- Event support, including RSVP management
The ideal candidate will have
- 5+ years of experience in a similar public relations position
- Graduate degrees or relevant experience in the discipline of public relations/communications/journalism
- Creative thinker with a good understanding and application of public relations principles.
- Passionate about public relations and media, VIP relations and communications as well as the ever-changing social and digital landscape
- Strong local and international industrial network
- Experience within a high-end retail brand or customer service focused industry would be desirable
- Demonstrates clear responsibility for managing budgets and accountability with results
- Demonstrates clear decision-making with excellent communication and problem-solving skills in all areas
- Creative thinker with a good understanding and application of public relations initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Ability to manage high workloads, tight deadlines and competing priorities with professionalism
- Ability to identify, prioritize and implement high impact initiatives
